It is precisely for these demanding operating conditions that ERDWICH Zerkleinerungs-Systeme GmbH has developed a seaworthy custom solution: a specially adapted version of the tried-and-tested M700/1-900 single-shaft shredder.

The special version was specifically designed for the shredding of mixed waste, various plastic materials and wood-based materials on cruise ships. The system was developed and implemented by the Erdwich design department as a specially adapted machine solution for use on the high seas.

By directly shredding the waste materials in separate waste rooms on board, the volume of waste streams is significantly reduced. At the same time, the material is optimally prepared for downstream processes such as briquetting.

The machine is equipped with powerful 22 kW drive motors and a hydraulic linear feed mechanism for the safe processing of bulky materials. A specially developed custom machine frame also ensures the secure mounting of the entire system on the ship.

Thanks to the integrated 15-mm screen, the material is largely homogenised. This significantly reduces the load on downstream processes and peripheral systems. This not only reduces energy consumption and wear, but also increases
